Linda B. Arters

Linda Arters is an expert communications and public affairs counselor and freelance journalist whose diverse career experiences offer a unique blend of skills, knowledge and insights aptly timed for the aging of America and its evolving marketplace. A Tempe, Arizona resident since 1984, Linda has earned a reputation for commitment to high standards and ethics, dedication to personalized service, and focus on customized, results-driven work.

Her specialty areas include strategy, crisis communications, training, media relations, pre-hospital care-first responders, elder abuse and exploitation, aging care, senior housing, pet therapy, and healthcare information for Baby Boomers as well as their companion animals.

Linda's successful communications campaigns have been the result of her trademark style of "getting into the trenches" to actually experience first-hand the stories, causes and messages being presented. The Philadelphia native has been a contributing writer to countless publications during her 40+ year career, concentrating now on issues regarding aging, elder abuse and exploitation, and Baby Boomers' retirement years.

Linda's clients and projects have included international, national, state and local officials such as a touring delegation of Euro-Asian diplomats; former President Gerald Ford; former US Senator and NASA astronaut John Glenn; former US Congressman, AZ Senator & Tempe Mayor Harry Mitchell; US House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA); US Congressman David Schweikert (AZ); internationally-acclaimed former Phoenix Fire Chief Alan Brunacini; distinguished military veterans such as the WWII Navajo Code Talkers and USS Arizona-Pearl Harbor survivors; professional athletes; celebrities as well as a plethora of individuals representative of diverse age, race, culture, religion and philosophy.

As an elder justice advocate, Linda's efforts include media relations, public awareness, and educational outreach. She is active on the state and national scene in activities to ensure the knowledge, training and authority to protect elders' civil rights as well as prosecute the predators, reaches all corners of this vast country as many elder abusers are family members or direct care givers. She lobbied on Capitol Hill for the passage of Senate Bill 178, which President Donald Trump signed into law on October 18, 2017. It is the first federal law providing protection from and prosecution authority over elder abuse perpetrators.
Linda is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and its elite Counselors Academy as well as a Life Member of the Fiesta Bowl Committee; she co-founded and managed two 501 (C) 3 non-profit organizations; has served on numerous civic and non-profit organizational boards and committees; was the first Community Relations Manager for the City of Tempe, AZ during the time it hosted Super Bowl XXX; has spoken at numerous state and national conferences; and received the 1991 Distinguished Alumni Award from Thiel College in PA.

She is a Certified Senior Advisor®; a 20-year certified emergency-medical technician (AZ-EMT-B retired); member of the Aging in Community and Legislative & Policy committees to the Arizona Governors Advisory Council on Aging (GACA); the Maricopa County Elder Abuse Prevention Coalition (MEAPA); the American Society on Aging; Americans Against Abusive Probate Guardianship (AAAPG), and the Center for Estate Administration Reform (CEAR). Linda actively pursues current news topics, research issues, and educational courses in the aging field, including from University So. California-Davis School of Gerontology, the National Resource Center on Supportive Housing and Home Modification, and the National Home Builders Association.
